It's time for fireworks .....

And please, please be careful!!!!

Depending on the way the wind blows, the smoke from the Utah and Colorado fires engulfs us. It's pretty sad and amazing at the same time. I've seen ash just hanging in the air and settling onto the car at stop lights. The beautiful mountain backdrop that surrounds our valley is almost completely covered by smoke.

The other night I spoke to a woman in Colorado who told me the smoke in the air was so bad they could not open their window or their smoke alarms would go off.

Mother nature is sure a powerful force. What we need is a rainstorm.

Oh and here is a picture of the new fire that stared in Alpine yesterday- from my office.... and the skies were just starting to clear up and looking so BLUE!

Zeb and i saw a news report a few months ago that a new terrorist plot had been uncovered.... the plot: starting fires all over the country. Looks like we beat them to it! (or that's who's starting all these darn fires!  ;)   )  Please keep our homes safe this 4th of July by, here's a thought, not starting fires with fireworks. They have a really great display you can watch on TV. Zeb and I were watching it together two years ago the first time we kissed, and you can bet we will be watching it again tonight!
